Availability is calculated from the length of the service you picked, so a two and a half hour colour does not get offered a slot with ninety minutes in front of it. That logic is the whole reason people end up needing something custom.

Most businesses should use an existing tool. We will tell you when that is the right answer, and which one. Custom is worth it when the tool is charging you monthly for something that does not quite fit, when your process has to bend around the software instead of the other way round, or when the data you need lives in three places and none of them talk.
Built properly, it stops being a cost. You own it, it does exactly what you do, and the monthly fee goes away.
